The approaching 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is a van that is perfect for both works and transporting the passengers. It rides on its third-generation and if offers versatility. Moreover, often used as a medical vehicle or a utility truck, Sprinter offers four-wheel drive, two wheelbases, and three roof configurations.

The exterior design will suffer a few significant changes. The 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter will come with a new face, the front end is taller and it looks distinguished. However, the front bumper is stretched and the new headlights are looking compact and sport a LED technology. LED daytime running lights are there as standard while the fog lights are optional.
The grille sits slightly taller and the hood looks flatter than on the previous model. A side profile will stay intact, the dimensions are the same and the overall shape will remain as well. The taillights are looking stylish and are bringing an upscale feel.

The interior of the newest model 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is improved, but it is the same attractive layout as before. The dashboard is taken from the E-Class and it adds few more switches and controls. The cabin sports more standard technology amenities and it host an optional infotainment system. Furthermore, the system comes with the voice recognition and the 10.25-inch HD screen with navigation and 3D mapping.
A 360-degree camera is optional and it is a perfect fit for such a large van. When it comes to safety, Mercedes added a pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring and crosswind assist as standard. Automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control are also new, but those features are optional. The seats are firmer and more comfortable. Cargo models add seating for up to three passengers and crew models will come with 220.1 cubic feet of cargo space. Passenger model can fit up to twelve passengers.
2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter engine
The upcoming 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter comes with two turbocharged diesel drivetrain options. A 2.1-liter four-cylinder engine is standard and it returns 161 HP and 265 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The optional 3.0-liter V6 unit makes 188 HP and 325 lb-ft of torque and a 5-speed automatic transmission is available. All Sprinter models are offered with a rear-wheel drive setup while the four-wheel drive is optional.
The biggest news is a new eSprinter version that will use a 41.4 kWh battery pack. This battery offers a 100 miles of driving range. According to Mercedes, this system is still in development so the numbers changes are very likely.
2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter price and release date
As expected, Mercedes refused to release the prices, however, company’s managing director says that the 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter will see a price decrease. If this become true, Sprinter will beat its biggest rivals Ram ProMaster and Ford Transit.
This van will go on sale in the first quarter of 2019, and eSprinter model will arrive a few months later.
