The second-generation 2018 Chrysler Pacifica minivan will soon make its grand arrival with a host of minor changes. All variants will show up at the dealerships with a standard blind-spot warning system, new base trim level, and upgraded multimedia systems. The Pacifica Hybrid will get some reshuffled trims as well.
The new Pacifica model retains the same engine, but it will be tuned for more power and improved fuel economy. Along with a stylish look inside and out, the inbound Chrysler Pacifica gets plenty of convenience and safety features. Some of its exciting particulars include a triple-pane sunroof, hands-free power side doors & tailgate, inbuilt vacuum cleaner, and rear-seat entertainment unit with two 10-inch touchscreens.
2018 Chrysler Pacifica – Modern Design and Interior
The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica features a new S Appearance Package that is characterized by black accents on the grille surround, wing badges, and headlamp units. Blacked-out bits are evident on its standard 18-inch wheels, or optional 20-inch wheels. Almost all trims that are equipped with this package will get a black roof rack as standard.
The interior region houses a black cabin with gray stitching. Also, the seats feature the “S” badging while the steering wheel comprises the Piano Black trim. The A-pillar trim, headliner, visors, and the front overhead console are all black.
Regarding the multimedia front, last year’s five-inch unit is ditched in favor of a standard seven-inch dashboard touchscreen system. A more significant 8.4 inches display remains optional, but it now features an HD radio and 4G LTE Wi-Fi for an optional navigation system.
Both touchscreens are furnished with modern U-connect multimedia systems with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. These were previously unavailable. The included Wi-Fi connectivity offers unlimited data based on an AT&T subscription. Worth noting, the AT&T throttles back your speed on reaching a preset limit.
2018 Chrysler Pacifica – Engine Specs
The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that generates 287 horsepower. The unit is hooked to a 9-speed automatic transmission and is designed to drive the front wheels. This motor is enough to push the Pacifica from 0-60 mph in less than 7.3 seconds.
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid combines a modified version of the 3.6L V6 engine with a 16kWh lithium-ion battery and two electric motors. This combination records a total output of up to 260 horsepower. According to our tests, we found out that the hybrid engine is fuel efficient and can handle highway on-ramps, city streets and steep mountains without feeling overtaxed.
