The new 2019 Citroen Berlingo will arrive in the second half of 2018 and it will wear Citroen’s well-known design language which includes new and more stylish exterior. The upcoming Berlingo van made its debut this year at the Geneva Motor Show and we had an opportunity to see many of innovations both inside and outside.
The biggest addition is perhaps a new 8-speed automatic transmission called EAT8. The interior will get a deserved upgrade as well, and there are both petrol and diesel engines available.
2019 Citroen Berlingo Exterior Redesign and Updates
The forthcoming 2019 Citroen Berlingo will ride on the same platform as most of the models from the PSA Group. That includes C4 Picasso models and Peugeot 3008. The newest Citroens’ panel van gets the exterior upgrade and it looks robust and sportier as a result. The front overhang is shorter and the grille is placed exactly between the headlights. Slightly above, two chrome horizontal lines are perfectly blended into the Citroen’s logo.
The dynamic profile continues to the rear, the vertical taillights are looking smooth and tailgate’s frame is placed just below a dark rear window. New Berlingo comes with a new set of roof bars that are slightly longer than on the previous model. The list of standard and optional features are really long and there are up to eight exterior colors: Polar White, Passion Red, Onyx Black, Platinum Grey, Soft Sand, Deep Blue, Arctic Steel and Aqua Green. There are even a Color packs available, just like the XTR Pack that adds 17-inch alloy wheels, body-colored features and it paints the interior’s ambiance into the Wild Green color.
2019 Citroen Berlingo offers a very modern interior
The all-new 2019 Citroen Berlingo offers a very modern and nicely finished interior. The dashboard sits horizontally and is more user-friendly than before. All of the controls are really useful to use, especially the air-conditioning controls that are easy to reach. The driving position is higher and the visibility is better as a result.
The new 8-inch infotainment screen is included and the system is compatible with androids and smartphones. There is even a Wi-Fi charging system and it is available as an option. The safety rating is also above average, mostly thanks to the blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and emergency braking system.
2019 Citroen Berlingo Engine Variants
The upcoming 2019 Citroen Berlingo will arrive with two drivetrain options. The first options is a 1.2-liter petrol unit, while the second option is a 1.5-liter diesel engine.
A 1.2-liter PureTech petrol engine is capable of producing up to 91 HP and 100 lb-ft of torque. More recommended is a BlueHDi 130 1.5-diesel unit that comes in three configurations and it can produce 76 HP, 100 HP, and 130 HP. The diesel engine also includes an all-new 8-speed automatic transmission that is smooth and it improves fuel-efficiency.
2019 Citroen Berlingo Price and Release Date
The most famous Citroen’s panel van will cost somewhere around $23,000. Dependable on the chosen engine and more options loaded, the price could go up to $30,000. Furthermore, the new 2019 Berlingo will hit the car markets in the second half of 2018.
